A chapter at St. Mary the Virgin was formed in 1927. There is no record of the chapter disbanding; but a pair of brass flower vases with a Daughter of the King pin welded on each vase are in our Altar Guild Sacristy. The Daughters of St. Mary the Virgin Chapter was reinstated on June 4th, 2005. Our chapter meets once a month throughout the year.
Every Daughter commits to wear faithfully the modified Greek fleury cross inscribed in Latin with the Order’s ideal, “Magnanimiter Crucem Sustine” which means that with heart, mind and spirit we are to uphold and bear the cross. At the base are the letters “FHS”, initials which stand for our motto, “For His Sake”. We wear the cross either on a chain or pinned over the heart. We welcome your questions about the Order. Please feel free to approach any one of us.
If you are interested in further information about the Daughters of the King, we heartily encourage you to contact [email protected]. They will pass your name on to the current membership chair of the chapter.
